Cozy Crime Mystery Newsletter

March 2026 Picks for Books, TV, and Fun

Hello Cozy Crime Fan!

Ah March! The month where the year finally wakes up!

The days stretch a little longer, the first signs of spring start to appear, and suddenly it feels a bit easier to settle in with a good book before the evening disappears. It’s that quiet in-between moment when winter hasn’t quite let go, but the promise of brighter days is starting to creep in.

It’s a lovely time for a cozy mystery. The villages are slowly stirring again, the café doors are opening a little earlier, and the amateur detectives are back out asking awkward questions. Behind the polite smiles and tidy shop windows, something suspicious is always going on.

In this month’s newsletter, we’ve gathered a fresh batch of mysteries to keep you company. There are new book releases to add to your reading list, a few television treats worth settling down for, and one or two puzzles to test your inner sleuth.

So pour a cup of tea, find your favorite chair, and enjoy a little mystery while the seasons begin to turn. March may be the start of spring, but it’s still perfect weather for a good whodunit. 🔎📚☕

TV & Movies

Marlow Murder Club Season 3 Date Announced With THREE New Cozy Mysteries!

The Marlow Murder Club is back on the case. Season 3 lands this March, bringing more gloriously bonkers murders to the quiet riverside town of Marlow as Judith, Suzie, and Becks join DI Tanika Malik’s team in a more “official” capacity.

This time, they’re tackling the sudden death of the town’s beloved mayor, a celebrity chef killed at his own cookbook launch, and a chilling university reunion in an eerie manor where Becks herself becomes a suspect.

Cozy crime chaos incoming - pencils and a tipple at the ready!

Shetland Renewed For Season 11 – What Have Tosh and Ruth Got In Store For 2026?

Shetland’s skies may be grey, but the future’s bright. The crime drama has been renewed for season 11, meaning more haunting landscapes, tight‑knit communities, and murders that cut right to the bone.

Based on the books by Ann Cleeves (or at least inspired by them), a new case will once again pull the team into secrets buried deep in island life.

Expect moral grey areas, emotional gut punches, and that unique mix of brooding atmosphere and quiet humanity that the show does so well. Time to head back north -there’s trouble brewing on the edge of the world.

Hit Show Patience Renewed For Season 3 With Extended Episode Run!

Patience is paying off - literally. The darkly witty crime drama is coming back for a third season, serving up more small-town secrets, slow-burn tension, and gloriously messy moral dilemmas.

Our favorite quietly ruthless heroine will once again find that every “good deed” has a body count attached, as past choices refuse to stay buried and new enemies move in closer.

Expect razor-sharp dialogue, twisty plotting, and plenty of “how did she figure that out?” moments. If you’re not caught up yet, now’s the time.

Books

Murder by the Book – The 1st Book In The Cosy Crime Club Mystery Series

When the manager of The Quaint Bookshop is found dead between the shelves, four mystery-obsessed readers decide it’s time to swap page-turning for crime-solving in Murder by the Book by MRG Davies.

Armed with nothing but their favorite fictional detectives, a love of puzzles, and wildly different personalities, the Cosy Crime Club takes on a real-life killer in their quiet English town.

It’s bookish, funny, and delightfully meta - perfect for anyone who’s ever thought they could solve it faster than the detective.

Buried in a Book – Charley James Is Back, Solving More Mysteries From Her Bookstore!

Halloween in a small Pennsylvania town was supposed to mean candy, costumes, and cozy bookshop vibes, until Charley James finds a dead woman at the local inn and a strange Edgar Allen Poe book hidden on her own shelves.

In Buried in a Book, the follow-up to last year’s Murder on the Books, the retired thriller author turned bookseller is pulled into a deadly hunt for a rare book worth killing for.

With only her wits, a suspiciously handsome detective, and her uncanny cat Poe to help, can Charley figure out whodunit?

Spellbound By Murder – Where Gilmore Girls Meets Charmed Meets Cozy Mystery

Gilmore Girls meets Charmed in the most bookish way possible.

In Spellbound by Murder, single mum Veronica Blackthorne moves back to Mystic Hollow to rescue her gran’s failing bookstore, only to have her star author guest plunge to his death and herself labeled the prime suspect.

With a rom-com–obsessed teen, a meddling witchy gran, and a very magical bookshop, Veronica has to clear her name before the killer and the magic spiral out of control.

Gifts & Goodies

Cats and Books! What More Could You Ask For From A Cushion?

For true cozy crime reading, you obviously need a cozy crime throne.

This plush cat cushion cover (you still need a cushion to fill it out!) turns any chair or sofa into the comfiest crime scene stakeout spot, with squishy support that hugs you while you devour “just one more chapter.”

Soft, whimsical, and very curl-up-with-a-mystery coded, it’s purr‑fect for long sessions with your favourite sleuths. Bonus points if your real cat insists on stealing it first. 🥰

Because Everybody (Well, Almost Everybody) Loves Candles!

I kid you not when I tell you that I am still burning through the sheer number of candles I received at Christmas - yes, Christmas!

It seems that when in doubt as to what to buy as a gift, candles top the list of ‘safe presents’. Thankfully, I love them, and as I write this, I have a cherry-scented one lighting up the room.

I also don’t believe in spending a lot of money on them (Dior has one for $670!!!!), so this is not only good value, but also makes a very pretty gift - especially to yourself.

So, set the mood for murder (the fictional kind) with this cozy candle gift set: four beautifully packaged aromatherapy candles that turn any reading corner into a crime-solving sanctuary 😍

Author Corner

Joy Ellis - Queen of the Eerie English Fens

Joy Ellis is the queen of Fenland fret, turning mist, marsh, and isolated villages into some of the eeriest backdrops in British crime fiction.

A former bookshop owner turned bestseller, she’s created three addictive series - DI Nikki Galena, Jackman & Evans, and Matt Ballard - blending police procedural grit with brooding atmosphere and twist‑packed plots.

With millions of copies sold, multiple UK Kindle #1s, and an upcoming TV adaptation The Fens, she’s essential reading for anyone who likes their cozies dark, moody, and unputdownable.

It’s a wrap…

And just like that, March is already moving along, bringing a hint of spring and a fresh stack of mysteries to keep us company.

The days are a little brighter now, yet there is still plenty of time in the evenings for a quiet hour with a book. It’s the perfect moment for the kind of story that starts gently and slowly pulls you in, one clue at a time.

We hope this month’s edition has given you a few new titles to add to your list and perhaps a show or puzzle to enjoy along the way.

Until next time, keep the kettle close, the reading lamp on, and your detective instincts sharp. After all, in the cozy mystery world, there is always another case waiting just around the corner.
